MEDICAL MALPRACTICE

Medical

Medical malpractice occurs when a healthcare professional, such as a doctor, nurse, or other licensed provider, fails to meet the accepted standard of care, resulting in harm or injury to a patient. This standard of care is based on what a reasonably skilled practitioner with similar training would do under comparable circumstances. Examples include misdiagnoses, surgical errors, medication mistakes, birth injuries, lack of informed consent and negligent follow-up or monitoring, all of which can have devastating outcomes for patients.

CATASTROPHIC
INJURY

In legal terms, negligence is the failure to exercise the degree of care that a reasonably prudent person would use in a similar situation, leading to harm or damage. Catastrophic injuries resulting from  the negligence of another can include traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage (which may lead to paralysis), severe burns, amputations, severe bone fractures and other life-altering conditions that often require long-term or lifelong care and cause a great deal of pain and suffering to those who have been injured.

DENTAL MALPRACTICE

Dental malpractice refers to situations where a dental professional fails to provide the standard of care expected, leading to harm or injury to a patient. This can include failure to diagnose oral cancers and other diseases,  failure to properly and timely treat dental issues including infections, accidental damage to surrounding tissues, improperly performed dental procedures, lack of informed consent, and negligent supervision of staff.  Each of these can result in serious consequences for the patient's  health and well-being.
